Polyanionic Cellulose (PAC) Water-Based Drilling Fluid Additive is a modified natural cellulose polymer, which provides filtration control in most water-based drilling fluids.
When PAC additives are added to drilling mud, they produce a drilling mud system suitable for drilling in sandy formations. PAC additives can be added to vegetable oil or mineral oil to provide an oil-based fluid suspension that can be poured directly into the drill string. PAC additives are also used in air/gel foam drilling.
Applications of polyanionic cellulose (PAC)
Provide filtration control in freshwater or saltwater-based drilling fluids
Improve wellbore stability in water-sensitive formations
Minimize rotational torque and circulating pressure
Improve hole cleaning and core recovery
Harden foam to improve cuttings transport in air/foam drilling
Reduce air demand, wellbore velocity and wellbore annular pressure in air/foam drilling
Advantages of polyanionic cellulose (PAC)
Applicable to freshwater, saltwater and saltwater-based drilling fluids
A small amount can effectively control filtration
Non-fermentation
Can be mixed with other drilling fluid additives
Resistant to harsh environments and pollutants
Simple to use, add slowly and evenly to the entire circulation system in the vortex of a high-speed agitator.
